{"id":46,"date":"2011-09-27T12:13:42","date_gmt":"2011-09-27T12:13:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/likelist.co.za\/warriors\/?page_id=46"},"modified":"2020-01-27T14:43:29","modified_gmt":"2020-01-27T14:43:29","slug":"code-of-conduct","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/warriorsfc.co.za\/?page_id=46","title":{"rendered":"Code of Conduct"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Warriors FC expects all players, coaches, officials, parents and spectators to abide by a&#8221;Code of Conduct&#8221; that embodies basic common sense principles, demonstrates consideration of others, and projects an image to our young players of which we can be proud.<\/strong> <strong>The following essential elements of the &#8220;Code of Conduct&#8221; must be adhered to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The emphasis on winning should never be placed above the value of good sportsmanship, fair play, or the skills of the game;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Abusive or derogatory or overly critical comments of one\u2019s own children or other children are unacceptable. Use positive reinforcement \u2013 catching them doing something well and pointing it out to them is the best teaching tool. It should be remembered that criticism once made can never be retracted;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Shout encouragement from the sides not criticism. \u00a0Parents have a role to play in getting the best out of a child but try and keep the technical advice to a minimum.\u00a0 It may be in contrast to a coaches instructions or tactics.\u00a0 By all means encourage your child to get stuck in and give his best;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><em>The safety and welfare of the players are of primary importance and nothing should be done which compromises this;<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Never maliciously criticize, harass, or threaten an official, another team\u2019s coach or players or spectators;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Coaches welcome being approached to discuss a child\u2019s progress or a concern parents may have.\u00a0\u00a0 Please approach the coach after,\u00a0<em>and not during<\/em>, a session or game or telephone him.<em>Coaches should not be approached in a middle of a coaching session as this is not fair on the children as the coach has to stop the session to talk;<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t put improper pressure on a coach to play a child in a particular team.\u00a0 By all means discuss the issue with the coach and ask for his thoughts on the matter but threats or harassment in this regard are unacceptable.\u00a0 The club operates as a meritocracy and while every coach makes mistakes in team selection, all selections are made in good faith and with careful thought;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Be a good winner &#8211; if our team is winning by a big score, try and control the celebrations for each additional goal.\u00a0 The young kids on the other side are hurting badly enough \u2013 next week the shoe could be on the other foot;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Not arriving for a game is rude to the other players who may have to play a player short and teaches one\u2019s child the completely wrong behavior as it negates the whole \u201cbe there for your team\u201d lesson we try and instill.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Warriors FC expects all players, coaches, officials, parents and spectators to abide by a&#8221;Code of Conduct&#8221; that embodies basic common sense principles, demonstrates consideration of others, and projects an image to our young players of which we can be proud. &hellip; <a href=\"http:\/\/warriorsfc.co.za\/?page_id=46\">Continue reading <span class=\"meta-nav\">&rarr;<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"parent":6,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","template":"","meta":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"http:\/\/warriorsfc.co.za\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/46"}],"collection":[{"href":"http:\/\/warriorsfc.co.za\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages"}],"about":[{"href":"http:\/\/warriorsfc.co.za\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/page"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/warriorsfc.co.za\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/warriorsfc.co.za\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=46"}],"version-history":[{"count":25,"href":"http:\/\/warriorsfc.co.za\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/46\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":1117,"href":"http:\/\/warriorsfc.co.za\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/46\/revisions\/1117"}],"up":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"http:\/\/warriorsfc.co.za\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/pages\/6"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"http:\/\/warriorsfc.co.za\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=46"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
