Programs

We recognize that a “one size fits all” approach to soccer is not always effective –

It fails to cater for players who love soccer but who cannot commit three times a week;

It results in weaker players getting discouraged, not enjoying the game, getting lost in the system and dropping out too early.

It does not benefit the stronger players, as a “one size fits all” approach often aims for a middle ground and fails to take into account that certain players are ready for more advanced technical coaching.

We therefore offer a choice of programs. The appropriate program for a particular player will depend on a number of factors including a player’s age, time constraints, motivation for playing and current skill level . Players’ skill levels within an age group differ for a number of reasons. Obviously natural ability is a factor, but there are other equally important ones: some players started earlier than others, some players have been exposed to better coaching than others and some players have the disadvantage of being born at the end of the year thus lagging behind their less gifted but more effective older compatriots.

We strongly believe that with the right guidance every player, at low and high skill levels, can make dramatic improvements. So whether the intent of a player is to just have fun and hold their own on the playground, or to make their school team, or to stay on their school team, to travel overseas with his club, or to eventually play college soccer overseas or one day to play professionally – we have the programs to help that player achieve his or her best.

UNDER 6 NON-CLUB PROGRAM (GRADE 0)

We do not believe in this age group training at evening sessions as under 6 children battle to concentrate at late sessions and also get home much too late at night.

This program is designed to allow our under 6 players to do as much or as little as they wish. Parents can choose all or some of the following components:

  1. a once weekly session of an hour which session can be booked beginning at 14h45 or 15h45 Monday to Thursday, subject to availability. These once weekly sessions offer basic soccer fundamentals and skills which it is essential players develop from a young age if they are to progress into good soccer players;
  2. “Football Friday”. This takes place from 15h00 to 16h00 every Friday on our astro courts and involves a fun game between other kids on this program. It is also a great way for the kids to put into practice what they learn in their weekly sessions in a fun, non-threatening way with unobtrusive but valuable advice being given by the coaches as they play;
  3. league games for those under 6’s who wish to represent the Warriors in the organized under 6 league against other clubs. These league games run from early May to mid-September with breaks for school holidays. Parents can elect Saturdays or Sundays for these league games. Saturday games take place at around 08h00 and Sunday games at 09h30 either at home or away.

Weekly sessions and Football Fridays in this program are run on our astro fields which due to the flawless run of the ball encourages confidence and skill development from a young age.

Our coaches are experts with many years of experience of this age group and know exactly how to ensure the kids enjoy themselves and learn valuable soccer skills at the same time.

U7 – U13 NON CLUB PROGRAM

We do not insist that children play club. If a child wants to have the opportunity to learn how to play soccer without playing competitively every weekend and have a practice once a week, then this program provides a solution.

This program involves a once weekly lesson of one hour. Subject to availability, sessions can be booked beginning 14h45 or 15h45 Monday to Thursday.

This program aims to introduce players to the skills of football (including mini games) in an effective, simple and fun way using age appropriate soccer and general co-ordinations exercises.

The same level of coaching is given in this program than that of Club, the coaches of club soccer and soccer school are exactly the same.

ONE – ON
– ONE ELITE

A 50 minute intensive lesson with one of our coaches. There is no better way of making dramatic improvements than in a one on one lesson.

Our one on one lessons are not formulaic and our coaches will assess the level of each player and what aspects need to be concentrated on.

We also consult with the parents to determine what exactly the purpose of the lesson is: Some children require work on their fundamentals – basic trapping, passing, dribbling and shooting; others are defenders and want particular work on their defending – tackling and parrying; for strikers we offer an advanced finishing course where we concentrate on advanced shooting and striking; and for players who love the flair, we offer a world class program on tricks, teaching over 30 specialist tricks and turns which we have distilled from our experience as well as research of videos of the world’s great players. Master these (including the “Cruyf turn, the “Maradona”, the “Ronaldo step over”) and you will wow your opponents and crowds.
